Having done 2 days of hiking for the past couple of days, The Boy and I decided to change things up and opted for a day of cycling on our third day in Sa Pa.
With a guide, we set off from Topas Ecolodge after brekkie and cycled all the way down to Ban Ho valley. After a quick photo-op stop, we continued on to My Son, passing through the Tay minority village of Thanh Phu. My Son is where you will find the small minority of Xa Pho. From there, we cycled back to Thanh Phu and visited a local home (it was actually the home of our guide’s mother-in-law) to have a bite to eat.
Her home was also a local shop and café. She kindly made us a bowl of delicious noodles with succulent pieces of pork and chopped veggies, served with a side of sliced bamboo shoots (sprinkled with the most powerful chilli powder ever!) and a cold can of energy drink. After lunch, we slowly cycled back to Ban Ho village to enjoy the beautiful afternoon sun by the river.
For our last full day in Sa Pa, we took it easy and had the laziest day at the lodge – Chillaxing under the sun, sipping on numerous glasses of iced Vietnamese coffee, R&R-ing at the spa, you name it!
The Boy and I had the most wonderful time in Sa Pa. We were very lucky with the weather (it was super foggy on the day of our departure and started to rain heavily when we started our journey back to Hanoi!), had so much fun with all our guides, seriously in love with the beauty that was constantly around us and we honestly could not have found a better accommodation for our stay. Topas Ecolodge was the perfect base and home for our adventure in north-west Vietnam.
Cảm ơn for the beautiful memories, Vietnam! I have no doubt that I will see you again very soon.
Quick visit to the local health centre.
So much love for these girls at the local boarding school.
When they saw us coming, they all rushed to sit next to me.
The boys were too busy checking out and playing with our bikes! >.<‘
Lunch is served!
This handsome fella decided to join us for lunch.
Another day full of giggles with the guide.
Making friends wherever I go!
Already missing this view.
Stay beautiful, Sa Pa!
All my ♥,
