Before leaving this beautiful Alpine paradise, there was one more thing we had to do.
But first things first, we gotta have our last hearty breakfast at the hotel…
Holy crepe! These nutella and banana filled crepes were delicious!!
This was my addiction during our time in Lech – Goat’s cheese wrapped in cranberries and pineapple chunks aka matches made in cheese heaven.
I honestly salivate every time I see these pictures. Where, oh where can I find these in Hong Kong?!
With only a few hours left to spare, we hurriedly made our way into town and beelined it to the Rüfikopfbahn cable car.
Up to Rüfikopf we go!
Rüfikopf is part of the geology hiking trail, Geoweg, that takes you on a journey through times past. Along the Geoweg, you can discover sites of interest that chronologically follows the history of the earth from as long as 200 million years ago. Ranging from rock strata to numerous fossils can be found.
The Rüfispitze peak.
If only we had more time to hike up there. You can apparently get stunning views of the Monzabonsee lake from the peak.
With time running out, we reluctantly made our way back to the cable car station.
But we made damn sure that we took in every last bit of this amazing view on the way down – Videos, pictures, selfies, snapchats, you name it!
Back at the hotel, it was Mittagsessen time…
Another one of my salad creations from the hotel’s summer special salad menu – just like the one I did on the first day. This time it was an old fave of mine, rocket salad with parmesan and balsamic vinegar.
The boy went for the Wagyu beef burger with fried egg, bacon, cheddar and wedges.
I chose the Pasta of the day – Tagliolini, chanterelles and lovage.
Full from our lunch, it was time to say goodbye to this beautiful town in the Austrian Alps. But, before we left, we had to have our last drink to do a final cheers to a superb getaway. After all, we couldn’t say goodbye properly without a glass of Alps-erol spritz!
Auf Wiedersehen, Lech! Vielen Dank for all the amazing experiences and beautiful memories that you have given us! In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, I’ll be back!
A huge thank you to the entire team at Hotel Aurelio for inviting us and arranging our stay, their wonderful hospitality and making our whole experience both flawless and unforgettable!
All my ♥,
