Cupcakes and Pancakes

As if we had not munched on enough food the night before, when we woke up the next morning, we unanimously agreed to start the day with an unhealthy amount of naughty goodness…

DSC_0047Now, are you telling me that LOLA’s cupcakes and nacho chips are not part of a weekend breakfast selection?

Shocking!

Seriously though, could you resist the beauty of this ickle piece of peanut butter cupcake?

I think not!

Not satisfied with our breakfast hors d’oeuvres, the girls decided to set up separate cooking stations to whizz up more breakfast delights…

Natalie was on the other side of the kitchen mixin’ and whiskin’ the pancake mix
DSC_0051While my two little chefs were busy cooking up a storm, I found a quiet spot in the kitchen for me and my comfy The All-in-One Company onesie to sip on my Your Tea tea…

ET VOILÀ!

Breakfast is served…

DSC_0077…not forgetting the all important maple syrup, of course! Or in this case, a ‘fake’ maple syrup.

Basically, it was a maple syrup flavoured golden syrup. Are you completely confussled as to why someone thought that this was a great idea? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. I personally think that maple syrup should ALWAYS be left alone and not to be mixed with our good ol’ traditional golden syrup. But, hey ho there you go!

God knows how much I love a good stack of pancakes with a bunch of streaky bacons, all slathered in maple syrup.

But what you are about to see next are a few photos that captured my reaction when I tried my first ever combo of pancake, fried English smoked bacon and fake-maplesyrup-slash-goldensyrup…

DSC_0081 DSC_0083As you can see, it was not a combination that made my taste buds happy!

What happened next?

DSC_0086I swapped my food with Natalie and steered well clear of the bacon.

Once the breakfast feast was finally demolished, N rolled away to the powder room to beautify herself, while S and I started to go into a food coma.

We gently climbed our way onto the sofa bed and within a few seconds, when I turned my head around, a certain mademoiselle had completely zonked out…
DSC_0087Some people are just clearly not cut out to eat so much goodness in one morning.

But sshhhhhh, we would not want to wake the Eating Beauty, now do we?…

All my ,

Amanda
