And the winner is…
Yes oh yes, as well as love, February sees the celebration of fashion, film, television and talent on both sides of the Atlantic with London Fashion Week, the Oscars and the BAFTAs all taking centre stage. So when I was asked to come along and taste the Grosvenor House exclusive Awards Season cocktails, I jumped at the chance. So, with red carpet in mind, I called my management, my agent, my chauffeur, my bodyguard and the rest of my entourage…. Haha, just kidding… More like, I Whatsapp’d the boy to see if he fancied joining me.
We visited The Bourbon Bar, JW Steakhouse at Grosvenor House in the JW Marriott Hotel, the venue set to host the BAFTA Dinner on 10 February 2013. With bums firmly on seats at the bar, the boy and I were ready to tickle our taste buds with the award-winning cocktail list that recognises the key nominations this season.
But before starting out on our night with the stars, the bartender offered us one of their limited edition cocktails made using bacon-infused Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel whisky.
Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel bacon-infused whisky, shaken with Bramley & Gage plum liqueur, pomegranate juice and fresh lemon juice, topped with Angostura bitters and served in a champagne saucer with a slice of candied bacon.
After a history lesson on some of the oldest Bourbons from their extensive in-house collection (including the 1903 Old Jordan dating back to the Prohibition at £125 per 50ml), it was time to prepare ourselves for the main acts of the evening…

Synopsis and Spoiler – a clever storyline, genius ingredients, creative twists and mind-blowing flavours – something that even Steven Spielberg would be proud of!
The boy and I had a superb night, from start to finish. Excellent service at a sophisticated yet historic bar in one of London’s most luxurious five-star hotels – the perfect setting to celebrate the world’s best film and television talent. The Awards Season cocktails are served in both The Red Bar and The Bourbon Bar exclusively at Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel, until 28 February 2013.
So go ahead and be part of the red carpet celebrations this awards season at Grosvenor House!
